Aksy district of Jalal-Abad region has enormous tourism potential. Since the territory borders Uzbekistan, the area has every chance of becoming the golden gate of tourism in the south of the country. In the Jalalabad region there are such wonderful places as the Chychkan gorge, Toktogul reservoir, Saimaluu-Tash, Padysha-Ata, Sary-Chelek, Arslanbab, Ala-Buka, Chatkal and Tash-Komur, rich in archaeological finds and minerals. Ecotourism should start from such places - villages and mountains. But to achieve this goal, Kyrgyzstan needs people who are ready to improve conditions for receiving tourists in rural areas, open guest houses, tourist information and cultural centers, cooperate with artisans and entrepreneurs, teach young people...
One of these people was Zhiydegul Mavlyanova, a resident of the rural district of Kashka-Suu, Aksy region, a leader and inspiration for many who are involved in the development of ecotourism in Kyrgyzstan. She passed away untimely in 2023, but today we remember her and the great legacy she left behind. Zhiyde was born in 1980 in the village of Tuyuk-Zhar, Kashka-Suu village administration, Aksy district. In 2002, she successfully graduated from the Faculty of Economics of Jalalabad State University and until 2014 taught the subject “Economics” at the secondary school named after Uchkempir Turdubaev.
From 2014 to 2019, Zhiyde worked as the chairman of the village council of the Kashka-Suu aiyl okmotu. In 2019-2020 Zhiyde worked on the project “Improving nutrition in mountain agroecosystems” and promoted the production of vermicompost and organic agriculture at the village administration level. At the same time, Zhiyde Mavlyanova worked as a consultant in the project “Economic Empowerment of Rural Women” with the support of UN Women. At the end of the pandemic in 2021-2023. she also worked as a consultant in the FSDS* project “Improving the nutrition of the population of the Jalal-Abad region.”
Zhiydegul Mavlyanova devoted a lot of effort to the development of tourism in the Aksy region. In 2022-2023, with the support of FSDS*, she headed the Padysha-Ata Eco Tourism cooperative, created on the basis of the Padysha-Ata yurt town of six yurts, which she and her husband Shumkar Mavlyanov built in a picturesque place near the Padysha Nature Reserve -Ata and the famous mazar. This has made a great contribution to the development of ecotourism in the area. Zhiyde successfully collaborated with many international organizations
(WFP**, IFAD***, FAO**** and others) and attracted investments into her village government. Winner of many diplomas, Zhiydegul Mavlyanova was awarded a Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan. In the short years of her life, Jiyde was also a caring and loving mother. Together with her husband Mavlyanov Shumkarbek, she raised seven sons. Hardworking and outgoing, she always sought out and innovated, and was a person who encouraged people to achieve more.
How I want to follow the example of Zhiyde and leave behind something that people will remember for many years...
